Dear DAS users,
We have exciting news to share! We have implemented a major update for DAS, bringing it up to date with the latest plugin versions and optimizing its performance.
Firstly, we have made a significant change to the sharding method. Previously, we used the traditional sharding method provided by Discord.js. However, we have now transitioned to a new method called “Hybrid Sharding” This new method drastically reduces RAM usage and eliminates any potential downtime issues.
Secondly, we have removed a few commands, specifically the !feedback, !imdb, and !wikipedia commands. These commands were rarely used (less than 500 times) and were deemed unnecessary.
Furthermore, we have updated the bot to the latest version of Discord.js (v14) and rewritten the music functionality using a new library that offers more features. We are closely monitoring performance metrics to gauge the impact of these changes.
Lastly, we have made various improvements to all commands to enhance overall performance.
Finally, we would like to inform you that certain features on the Dashboard custom commands, blocked words, level-up messages will be temporarily disabled for a few days to assess their impact on bot performance. We will reactivate these features as soon as we evaluate the effects of their deactivation.
